From Barriers to Bridges
Born and raised in Guatemala, our founder's journey began with a mission to create impactful businesses in his home country. He pursued a business entrepreneurship degree at Arizona State University, aiming to learn about building businesses to eventually start companies with social and environmental benefits in Guatemala. Despite his academic excellence, numerous accolades, and dedication to community impact, he faced significant immigration challenges that prevented him from securing a job in the U.S. He was briefly hired by an HR tech software company, only to be fired during training due to visa restrictions. This experience revealed an "invisible barrier" that hindered talented individuals from accessing opportunities.
Forced to return to Guatemala, he worked at a major call center and realized that many talented Guatemalans shared his desire for international opportunities. This inspired him to start METEOR, a company dedicated to removing these barriers by connecting top talent from Latin America with businesses in need of their skills. Our story is about breaking down these barriers and building bridges between great people and great companies.
